Product Manager (min. Secret clearance required)
GDIT is seeking a dynamic Product Manager to lead product strategy and delivery for a next-generation federal platform modernization program. In this pivotal role, you'll drive innovation across a multi-year effort to consolidate legacy systems into a unified, modern platform, deliver high-impact solutions in a cross-functional SAFe Agile environment, and serve as the critical bridge between federal mission needs and engineering execution. MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT As a Product Manager, the work you do at GDIT will directly shape how a federal agency modernizes mission-critical operations and retires legacy tools.Lead product strategy and backlog ownership for a platform consolidating fragmented legacy systems into a unified, modern solutionCollaborate with federal stakeholders, UX designers, and engineering teams to translate complex policy and operational requirements into actionable product roadmapsDrive measurable outcomes through OKRs, User Validation Events, and quarterly roadmap delivery aligned to contractual milestonesUtilize SAFe ceremonies, hypothesis-driven development, and data-driven prioritization to manage a multi-increment product lifecycleResponsibilitiesDrive product strategy, discovery, and development for complex federal mission capabilitiesOwn and prioritize the product backlog with traceability to contractual commitments and mission objectivesEngage with federal executives and program leadership, presenting insights, strategies, and progress updates through monthly health indicators and quarterly roadmap reviewsManage the product roadmap across base year and option year scope, balancing system consolidation with future capability growthCultivate strong relationships with federal customers to ensure project success, conduct User Validation Events (UVEs), and identify opportunities to expand platform valueTranslate intricate domain concepts into tangible artifacts and actionable product strategiesCoordinate cross-team dependencies with DevSecOps, security/compliance, and UXCore Product SkillsStrong product mindset including hypothesis-driven development and data-driven resultsUser-centered thinking and ability to collaborate with UX teams on complex federal workflowsStrategic roadmapping and prioritization across contractual milestonesSAFe Agile methodologies PI Planning, sprint reviews, backlog refinementDay-to-day backlog and delivery management with Jira or equivalentStakeholder management and communication at both technical and executive levelsLeadership and Relationship BuildingAbility to mobilize cross-functional teams towards achieving key mission outcomesStrategic vision to align product initiatives with the customer's modernization goalsExpertise in navigating complex federal client ecosystems and building long-term partnershipsSkill in identifying and capitalizing on new opportunities within existing client relationshipsCapacity to influence and gain buy-in from both internal stakeholders and federal executivesProven track record of leading high-impact projects that deliver measurable resultsWHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEEDEducation: Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related fieldExperience: 7+ years of product management experience within a scaled Agile or SAFe organizationDemonstrated experience in product strategy and development on federal IT modernization programsProven ability to manage multiple full product lifecycles from discovery to deliveryTechnical background sufficient to drive engineering deliverables and understand ATO/DevSecOps processesStrong leadership and communication skills, adept at federal stakeholder managementSecurity clearance: Active SecretUS citizenship required Preferred QualificationsSAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM) certificationFamiliarity with low-code platforms and legacy system migration strategiesPrior experience supporting system decommissioning effortsExperience with federal regulatory or policy-driven domainsLocation: Remote with periodic on-site (Washington, D.C.)Clearance: Active Secret clearance required GDIT IS YOUR PLACEGrowth: AI-powered career tool that identifies career steps and learning opportunitiesSupport: An internal mobility team focused on helping you achieve your career goalsRewards: Comprehensive benefits and wellness packages, 401K with company match, and competitive pay and paid time offFlexibility: Full-flex work week to own your priorities at work and at homeCommunity: Award-winning culture of innovation and a military-friendly workplace
